Amy Johnson
Hygienist & Hygiene Department Head
Amy has been a dental hygienist for 23 years. She has been with the GDE for a total of 15 years. After attending college to become a Dental Assistant, Amy continued her education and found her true passion for Dental Hygiene. Amy enjoys helping and educating patients about their oral health.
"To see someone come into the office afraid because it's been a couple of years since they last saw the Dentist or had their teeth cleaned, and leave with hope, confidence, and a smile is the reason I am a Dental Hygienist," says Amy. "I strive to provide the best GDE experience." At the GDE we are all a family and treat our patients as such. "I am blessed to work with such an amazing Dental Team."
Amy enjoys spending time with her daughter, Stella, and husband, Korey. They enjoy watching sports and enjoy spending time with their family and friends. Door County is one of Amy's favorite spots. Remember, a healthy mouth is a happy mouth!
Kay Bandle
Hygienist
Kay is one of our dedicated, innovative, and enthusiastic dental hygienists, who has worked at the Gentle Dental since 1990. Over the years, her motivating and consistent professionalism has proven to be a huge asset for both the Gentle Dental staff and patients.
Kay loves her career as a dental hygienist and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She has a gentle, yet thorough approach to dental hygiene, along with a touch of humor. Seeing a dental professional can be a challenge, but Kay genuinely focuses on the patient's needs and will do her best to provide superior dental care, eliminate any dental anxiety, answer any questions or concerns, and equip patients with the necessary information and instruction for optimum oral health.
Kay currently resides in Cedarburg, but grew up in West Bend. She attended MATC for her Associate's Degree, and then received her Bachelor's Degree from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Besides spending time with her husband, Fred, and her family and friends, she enjoys traveling, photography, and reading. She is grateful to be a part of Dr. Neuburg's Gentle Dental team, and she looks forward to welcoming you to our practice and making your visit a great one!
Kandi Frederick
Hygienist
Kandi is one of our dental hygienists, who is always aiming to be as thorough and gentle as possible. She joined the GDE staff in 1993. She is proud and feels blessed to have been a part of the GDE for 30 years. She knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist after being in braces for four years herself as a child. She loves helping people take care of their smiles and help keep them happy and healthy.
I love working at the GDE because we are a family here, we care about each other and all our patients. We work together to give each of our patients the best dental care possible.
Kandi, and her husband, Rick, enjoy spending time with family, especially their grown children, Derick and Karly. They love traveling, spending time outdoors and enjoying time with friends. Kandi looks forward to help make your dental visit a great one!
Allie Lipske
Hygienist
Allie started with the GDE in June of 2021. She graduated from Waukesha County Technical college in 2021 with a degree in dental hygiene. She has prior experience as an assistant but has now found her passion cleaning teeth. Her goal is to educate all patients about their oral health and help everyone achieve their oral health goals. Allie’s favorite part about being a hygienist is meeting and working with patients of all ages and educating them on great homecare and maintaining healthy smiles. Outside of work, Allie enjoys snowmobiling, golfing, fishing and most of all spending time with her family and boyfriend.
Donette Heider

Before becoming a hygienist I worked in many different dental departments: sterilization, radiology, oral surgery, dental assisting, and orthodontics. While working in the orthodontic department, I decided to return to school to become a hygenist becuase I enjoyed helping patients with their dental needs. I graduated with honors and am a member or Phi Theta Kappa. I strive to educate patients to help them understand their oral health needs. I enjoy working at the GDE due to the camaraderie and high quality of dental care that is given to patients. It truly is a loving, caring environment.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to travel, camp, watch football, crafts, working in the yard, and going on motocycle rides. I have been in hygiene for 31 years.
Meta Ratzburg
Hygienist
Meta is one of our dental hygienist who started at GDE in 2025. She was a dental assistant for over 6 years, and is now currently pursuing her passion for oral health as a dental hygienist. She understands dental hygiene is not just about maintaining a bright smile, it is a crucial component of a person’s overall health and wants to bridge the gap between dental health and overall wellness. She loves building genuine connections with her patients, which creates a welcoming environment that alleviates any anxieties they may have. Outside of her professional life, Meta enjoys the time she spends with her friends, family, her dog and boyfriend. Whether it’s hunting, attending concerts, exploring new cities or spending time outside, Meta always finds a way to keep busy. With her compassionate approach and dedication to patient education, she is determined to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients, ensuring they achieve optimal oral health.

Joy was blessed to join the GDE family in 1992. The atmosphere at the GDE is just the right combination of professionalism, team work and fun for her. Joy loves working in dentistry and having the opportunity to help patients with their dental care. She takes pride in her ability to show patients that the dental office can be a pleasant place to visit. To her, they are more than just patients, they are family and so are her co-workers.
Joy grew up locally in the Town of Barton. She enjoys the beauty of country life. In her spare time she takes pleasure in traveling, gardening, bird watching and getting together with family and friends. Joy looks forward to welcoming you to the practice with her kind, caring and fun loving personality!
Crystal Stolt

Crystal is one of our kind, gentle, and friendly dental assistants and has been a valued member of the GDE family since 2003. She discovered her passion for oral care at a young age, inspired by the compassionate treatment she received as a child. That experience motivated her to provide the same level of thoughtful, personalized care to others.
Crystal truly loves what she does. One of her favorite things about the office is its welcoming atmosphere. “Everyone I work with — and our patients — feel like family. There’s rarely a moment when you don’t hear laughter. Everyone here is enthusiastic and dedicated to providing the best care possible.”
She strives to ensure every patient has a positive and comfortable experience. Originally from West Bend, Crystal enjoys spending time with her husband, Brad, and their two children. As a family, they love spending time outdoors whenever possible and share a special love for dogs.

Viktoria Bruski

Viktoria has been a dental assistant for 4 years but recently joined the GDE family in the Spring of 2021. Her love of dentistry began in high school when she shadowed her old dentist for a career activity. Vik went to dental assisting school in Mesa, Arizona and grew up there until 2018 when she moved to Wisconsin. She enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend Cole and their dog; Millie. Her free time is also spent in northern Wisconsin at her family’s cabin.

I worked as a dental assistant for about 13 years before deciding to take some time to be home with my growing family. Now that my boys are all in school, I knew I wanted to get back into the career that I loved! I was a patient at the GDE and feel blessed to have become part of the team in the summer of 2022.
My husband, Adam, and I have three wonderful boys. We enjoy vacationing up north, attending Brewers and Badgers games and having movie or game nights at home. I look forward to my future at the GDE and am excited to get to know all our wonderful patients!
Avery Arndt

Avery started at the Gentle Dental in the beginning of June 2023! She found a love for Dentistry when she enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Waukesha County Technical College. She is from Hartford and currently lives there with her brother, parents, and mini schnauzer, Maverick. Although Avery has lived in Hartford for most of her life, her parents were both born and grew up in West Bend, so the GDE is kind of like her home away from home. She claims that “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” And she states, due to the heartfelt care from her coworkers, bosses, and patients; she knows that statement is true. In her free time she likes to play volleyball, read, and spend time with her friends and family. She can’t wait to see what the future holds for her at the Gentle Dental!
Melanie Meinert

Melanie became part of our family at the GDE in August of 2023. She has been attending the GDE as a patient since she was three years old. Melanie has always had a passion to help others. She has had plenty of mouth surgeries which has led her to become a fantastic dental assistant. Melanie shadowed our hygienist Amy for a semester of highschool to make sure it was her passion, and dental hygiene is truly her passion. She is now a freshman in college, going for dental hygiene, but works at the GDE as a dental assistant until she graduates. Melanie has a passion for caring for others and loves to share life stories with her patients to truly get to know them. She claims learning new things about life and oral hygiene all in one is a huge benefit to grow to be a better person. Melanie played basketball her whole life but did not continue it into college due to her wanting to focus on school. In her free time out of work she loves to play sports with her family and friends, enjoy time at her friend's lake house, or go bear hunting with her many hunting dogs.

I absolutely love what I do. I’m excited to continue my education and look forward to finishing school to become a dental hygienist in the future.

Having joined the GDE family a DECADE ago, one of the things I love most about working as a member of the front office staff is being a friendly & welcoming face for our patients and working with people that absolutely adore. I understand that a visit to the dentist starts from the moment someone comes through our front door and love easing any dental anxieties the patient may have coming to us. It's a complete blessing when a patient can leave her feeling confident, at ease and saying "that's the BEST dental experience I ever had."
Outside of work, absolutely cherish my time with my husband Bill and our two grown sons who live out of state. We all love anything outdoors! Some of our most treasured times are hiking in our woods, paddle boarding and sharing great conversation around a bonfire or over a warm cup of coffee on the patio.

Steph joined the GDE family in 2003, as a dental assistant, where she worked side by side to her father, Dr. Ken Bero and her sister, Dr. Kristie Neuburg, so to her, the GDE staff is literally family! At that time, working for her father and sister was supposed to be temporary, however she quickly fell in love with the staff and patients of the GDE and stayed for 20 years!
Currently, Steph transitioned from being a dental assistant to join the GDE front desk staff! Steph was born and raised in West Bend. She and her husband, Darrick, have two children. As a family, they enjoy anything and everything lake related and spend as many weekends as possible up at their family lake house! She is excited to welcome patients to be a part of our one of kind GDE family!

I became part of The GDE family in 2006, having no prior dental experience, I was fortunate enough to have wonderful co-workers & employers teach me the ropes of dentistry!
What I love most about my job is interacting with our patients & treating them like friends or family. My goal is to make them feel safe & comfortable in a warm & friendly environment.
I grew up on Random Lake, so I love the water! I moved to Saukville in 1994 after marrying my husband Scott. We have 3 wonderful young-adult children, Colton, Chase & Kaylie. We also have 3 dogs & a cat, who are very spoiled!
In my free time, I love spending time with my family & friends. I enjoy being outside with my dogs, working in my yard, hiking, kayaking & reading.
Sami Brabender

Sami became part of the Gentle Dental Family in the fall of 2022. She was a long time patient and is the twin sister to one of our assistants, Crystal. Coming to work with family everyday is true in many ways! The family friendly environment is what Sami loves most about the office. Working in an environment that allows Sami to care for others is her true passion. Prior to joining the GDE Sami worked with children for ten years, worked in the fraud department at a local bank and also was a CNA for many years after graduating high school. Sami grew up in West Bend and enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and her teenage son Dylan. They spend many of their evenings and weekends at sporting events. When they are not enjoying time with sports, they enjoy spending time with friends, family and being in the outdoors camping, swimming, kayaking, hiking and beach days.
Mikayla Klitzmans

Mikayla started here in January 2026 with no experience in the dental field but had a lot of costumer based experience working as a licensed aesthetician for 7 years and in the restaurant industry since she was 14. She loves her time here already, feeling grateful for the support and training from everyone on the team. She hopes to have a long future here at the Gentle Dental.
She is from the West Bend area, while her fiancé, Chris, is from Slinger. They have been together for over 4 years and are tying the knot this fall! On her free time she enjoys lake days, going up north, concerts, sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.
