Dr. Kristie Neuburg

Dr. Kristie Neuburg grew up in West Bend, WI where she met her future husband, Jim.  She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with an undergraduate emphasis on Biomedical Studies.  She continued her professional studies at Marquette University School of Dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2003.

 

After graduation, she returned to West Bend, WI to join her father, Dr. Ken Bero, Jr, DDS and was honored to continue their family dental tradition at the Gentle Dental Emporium.  Dr. Neuburg is a member of the Wisconsin Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Washington County Dental Society (on which she served on the board for many years and was president from 2008-2009), and an associate member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Clinically, Dr. Neuburg's areas of clinical interests include Implantology, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Botox treatment/injectables (for both Orofacial Pain, Migraines and Esthetics) and Cosmetic Dentistry/Veneers.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Neuburg enjoys spending time with her family (her husband Jim, son James, daughter Anna, teddy bear dogs Goldie and Zoey), traveling, and spending any time she can at the lake.  She is currently trying to muster up the courage to go skydiving as well.

 

Dr. Neuburg has a servant heart and considers it an honor to be able to use her talents and gifts to serve God, her community, her patients and staff and she strives daily to be a blessing to everyone she meets and treats professionally.  Gentle, compassionate care for people of all ages is her utmost priority.

Dr. Susie Plager 

Dr. Susie Plager grew up in Palatine, IL, and fell in love with Wisconsin at an early age while on family vacations to Door County. She attended Marquette University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Prior to dental school, Dr. Plager received her Master of Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University—Arizona, where she graduated at the top of her class. Dr. Plager’s passion for oral health care and evidence-based dentistry began with her work as a graduate student where the primary focus of her research was the cellular biology of oral cancer. 

 

Dr. Plager attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. As valedictorian of her dental school class, Dr. Plager was awarded the Dean’s Recognition Award for Academic Excellence. She is also a proud member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. Plager is passionate about dentistry and takes pride in staying current on various topics. She began taking continuing education courses even prior to graduation, including courses on oral surgery, implants, and a Mini-Residency Program on TMD and Orofacial Pain. Dr. Plager has been trained in endodontics (Root Canal Therapy), pediatrics, orthodontics, implant placement, oral surgery and so much more. She is an active member of Wisconsin Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. 

 

Dr. Plager joined the GDE team in 2020. She believes in a comprehensive, minimally invasive, and evidence-based approach to treatment. Her main focus is to create an environment in which patient comfort and highest quality of care are top priorities. She is excited to get to know you. 

 

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Plager enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their two dogs, Joy and Hazel. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. Elliot Shambeau grew up in Neillsville, WI, and moved to the West Bend area early on in life. He attended Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marquette University in 2020. There, he was a member of the accelerated Pre-Dental Scholar Program. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2023.

Dr. Elliot Shambeau finished his dental school education on the Dean's List and as a member of the national dental honor society; Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Shambeau has been trained in restorative dentistry, endodontic therapy, pediatrics, and oral surgery. He is a member of Wisconsin Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Shambeau joined the GDE team in 2023. He believes in providing high quality, patient-focused treatment. Dr. Shambeau values honesty, empathy, and professionalism regarding his commitment to his patients' well-being. 

​

In his spare time, Dr. Shambeau enjoys attending concerts and sporting events, traveling, and spending time with family all over Wisconsin. He also likes staying active, particularly through weight training and running.
